My history of being obsessed with Mario

It was 2012. ^{Wait. Was it 2011? 2010??} Actually I don't remember how I found about Mario but I think it was on YouTube. YouTube recommended me some Mario video. I don't remember what was my first Mario video tbh, I have a shitty memory. But it's likely one of those Mario parodies or some gameplay video. Idk what made me get into Mario but yeah I got into the series for the first time. I forgot why.

I actually never got to play even a single game. ^{And I still don't to this day. Maybe except Super Mario Run. But then I quit. What being broke does to a mf} But I still love Mario. As a kid, I watched tons and tons of gameplay and some good ol' Flash parodies of the 2000's and 2010's, even in another period when I was in another phase (Touhou) at the time in 2014-15. ~~I even made up a shitty Touhou crossover with a more menacing Princess Peach titled "In The Hell".... smh 💀~~ My favorite fan videos to watch were SMG4 and sprite animations. Especially the latter, god. I love Castle Calamity.

SMG4 made me say swear words which caught Mom's ears and told me to stop swearing for a few weeks or so. Eventually I gave in and followed her words, stop watching Mario videos, and eventually lose my interest in the franchise. It didn't help by the fact that I began to be interested in other stuff such as Gravity Falls. I got into Mario again in 2017-18-something but lost interest in just a few weeks or so. Short-lived.

When I appeared in the internet (for real this time!) in 2020, I began watching Mario videos again.... sometimes. It doesn't get me into Mario again. I was just curious lmao. I still watch Mario videos from time to time even when I wasn't into Mario anymore. I have been following a few Nintendo-related channels such as Thomas Game Docs since idk maybe 2022 or 2023. Maybe because Kirby is another interest of mine at the time (I still love Kirby to this day) and the franchise is related to Nintendo stuff. HOWEVER. A few months ago, on YT I got recommended this video about Mario food. After watching that, I brought up the video and one of my childhood experiences (where I went to a local mall and found Mario Brick Breakin' Candies ^{I ate them and it was good btw}) on my friend's Discord server. Out of curiousity I researched Mario again and eventually I got into my Mario phase again. Aaaand that's how I got interested in the franchise.
